A 20-YEAR-OLD Tsholotsho man has hanged himself after allegedly stabbing his two teen cousins.
In a statement yesterday, police said they were investigating a suicide and murder case where the suspect allegedly stabbed his two cousins aged 12 and 17 several times all over their bodies with a kitchen knife.
According to the police, the incident occurred on March 16, 2022, at Mlotheni Line in Tsholotsho.
“The man stabbed his cousins for unknown reasons. The young brother died on the spot while the other sustained serious injuries and was referred to Tsholotsho hospital for treatment.
“The suspect was arrested and he committed suicide by hanging himself with a rope made from his clothes while in a police cell at the Zimbabwe Republic Police Tsholotsho Station,” the police said.
Meanwhile, in unrelated incidents, the police in Bulawayo are investigating two cases of unlawful entry into premises and theft.
“On the first incident which occurred at corner Jason Moyo Street and fourth avenue, an unknown suspect broke into a shop where he damaged a chubb safe and stole cash amounting to US$7 918, $2 150 and a laptop.
“On the second incident which occurred at a college along Herbert Chitepo Street, the unknown suspect broke into the college offices and stole a chubb safe which had four laptops and a MiFi router.”
