Man in trouble over threats to kill wife

A DZIVARESEKWA man is facing threats to commit murder charges at the Harare Magistrates’ Court after he allegedly pulled out a knife and threatened to stab his wife he suspected to be in an adulterous relationship.

Tafadzwa Nyakunhuwa appeared in court on Friday over the incident which happened during the night of June 27 after a heated argument with his wife, Shylin Banda.

Nyakunhuwa allegedly became violent and took a kitchen knife, threatening to kill Banda.

In a related matter, a Kuwadzana man was nabbed on allegations of hitting his wife with a brick and an iron bar on the head after suspecting that she was having an affair with another man.

Paradzai Tonderai, 36, was not asked to plead to attempted murder charges when he appeared before Harare magistrate Denis Mangosi.

He will be back in court on July 21 and will have to apply for bail at the High Court.

Allegations are that on July 6, the two had an altercation with Tonderai accusing the woman of having an adulterous relationship with another man.

The State alleges that he went on to attack the woman several times, hitting her on the head with a half brick and an iron bar.

In another case, a Kuwadzana 5 man was arrested on allegations of raping his married tenant after allegedly storming into her room demanding sex.

Basil Pasipamire is facing rape charges after abusing the woman, 19, on June 21.

Pasipamire allegedly approached the woman, while she was in her room demanding to have sex with her, but the complainant turned down the request.

It is alleged that he forcibly grabbed the woman, tied her hands with his belt and pushed her on the bed, before raping her.

The woman screamed for help, but no one came to her rescue.

After the rape, the woman told her husband, leading to Pasipamire’s arrest.
