China donates computers for video-conferencing
CHINA yesterday donated computers to the government of Zimbabwe for video-conferencing in a bid to fight the deadly coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Chinese embassy in Harare has confirmed.
Zimbabwe is currently on a 21-day lockdown but there are some important meetings which should be done, especially by top government officials.
“Ambassador Guo (Shaochun) had a phone call with His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa, and said that the embassy decided to donate 60 computers to Zimbabwe for video-conferencing in the fight against Covid-19.
The close communication and coordination between the two sides will continue amid social distancing,” the Chinese embassy in Zimbabwe said in a statement.
Guo added that with technology, people can continue communicating though apart from each other.
“We keep a social distance but stay closer through communication,” he said.
