Zimbabwean author honoured in India

ZIMBABWEAN author Believe Guta has been conferred with an honorary Doctorate in Business Administration during a recent visit to India.

Guta received the accolade in recognition of his distinguished contributions to authorship, entrepreneurship, and strategic research.

“This recognition is not just about me — it reflects Zimbabwean resilience, innovation, and the enduring spirit of enterprise. I am deeply honoured to represent our great nation on the global stage,” he said.

“My sincere gratitude goes to the India Research Center and the entire faculty of Cambridge Digital University for this humbling recognition.”

Guta’s latest publication, “Legal Battles of an Entrepreneur – Navigating the Business Legal Landscape”, has struck a chord within business circles, lauded for its accessible and practical guidance on tackling the legal challenges commonly faced by entrepreneurs.

Rooted in extensive research and fieldwork, the book offers a unique synthesis of legal acumen and business strategy.

It has garnered widespread praise as a vital resource for start-ups, SMEs, and even established enterprises seeking to navigate complex regulatory environments.

His work demonstrates a deep commitment to empowering entrepreneurs — not merely to launch ventures, but to establish resilient, legally compliant businesses.

By combining academic rigour with real-world insight, Guta has emerged as a respected voice in discussions around enterprise sustainability, legal literacy, and innovation.

While in India, Guta engaged with several academic institutions and entrepreneurial networks, helping to forge stronger ties between African and Asian thought leaders in business development, policy, and innovation.

His participation brought valuable perspectives to dialogues on cross-border entrepreneurship and knowledge exchange.

The honorary degree, awarded during a formal convocation attended by scholars, business leaders, innovators and fellow honourees, is widely seen as a tribute to Guta’s significant contributions to the advancement of business knowledge and legal awareness.

Also receiving an honorary doctorate was Edzai Kachirekwa, president of the Afro Eurasia Energy Centre and an engineer specialising in power generation and high-voltage transmission systems.
