ZIMBABWE is set to play host to two golf events as part of the Mogold Global Africa Tour.
The Africa Tour, which features two tournaments that will be staged in several African countries between March and May next year, is part of United States-based Mogold Global LLC’s international tour which aims at promoting golf tourism as well as fostering business partnerships between the United States and Africa.
Incidentally, Mogold Global today launches its Premier International Golf Tour in Dallas, Texas. The five-day event will feature players drawn from several countries, among them the United States, United Kingdom as well as South Africa and Kenya. Zimbabwe will be represented by players from the Sunday Swingers golf team, with organisers excited at the prospect of hosting corporate leaders from around the world.
“The event unites a diverse group of golf and business leaders from across the globe, exemplifying a commitment to sport, culture, and sustainable enterprise,” said Golden Makusha, the Mogold Global vice-president for Global Strategy and Business Development.
“Highlighting this year’s festivities is the participation of the Sunday Swingers, a distinguished team of Zimbabwean golfers traveling to the U.S. for a nine-day visit, alongside notable players from the United Kingdom, South Africa, Kenya, and the United States. This dynamic gathering underscores Mogold Global’s dedication to strengthening cross-cultural relationships and expanding global sporting diplomacy.”
Makusha also noted the opportunity for business linkages presented by the event which has also received the backing of locally-based corporate Seeff Properties Zimbabwe.
“Beyond the greens, the event serves as a catalyst for fostering sustainable business partnerships between the United States and Africa. In collaboration with prominent organisations, including the Dallas Sports Commission, Maryland Sports Commission, Guardian Life Insurance, Seeff Properties Zimbabwe and World Financial Group, the company aims to promote cross-border investment, tourism and bilateral trade,” said Makusha, who indicated that the organisations will be showcasing during the week-long event in Dallas.
Meanwhile, indications are that Mogold Global’s upcoming Africa Tour will cover Kenya, Botswana, and Zimbabwe. Local golf clubs, Royal Harare, Borrowdale Brooke and Country Estate and Chapman are set to stage at least a round apiece, while another round of golf is envisaged for the Victoria Falls.
“This expansion exemplifies the company’s vision to blend sport with strategic development, fostering sustainable and mutually beneficial relationships across continents,” said Makusha.
