Türkiye offers life—changing scholarships

THE Republic of Türkiye has officially opened applications for its prestigious, government-funded higher education scholarship programme for the 2026-2027 academic year.
Run by the Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities (YTB), the Türkiye Scholarships programme offers Zimbabwean students a unique opportunity to pursue advanced studies in one of the world’s rising hubs for international education.
The scholarships are broad in scope, covering associate, undergraduate, graduate, and PhD degrees, as well as specialised research studies across a wide array of subjects.
Designed to provide a “full-package” experience, the award includes university and department placement; monthly stipends and full tuition fees; health insurance and accommodation; a Turkish language course and round-trip flight tickets; and access to diverse academic and cultural programs.
Türkiye has established itself as a premier destination for global scholars, with its flagship programme boasting over 150 000 graduates from 100 different countries.
Currently, more than 15 000 international students are enrolled in various Turkish universities under this initiative.
Zimbabwean students have already begun to benefit significantly from this partnership.
To date, 179 Zimbabweans have been awarded Türkiye scholarships, a number the Turkish Embassy in Harare hopes to grow significantly during this application cycle.
This educational exchange is viewed as a key pillar in enhancing the bilateral relations between Türkiye and Zimbabwe.
The application process is entirely digital and free of charge.
