Outsiders must not divide us— Muduvuri

…our presidium is united

BUSINESSMAN Jimayi Muduvuri yesterday urged Zimbabwe’s war veterans to remain united and rally behind the leadership of President Emmerson Mnangagwa saying his presidium is united.

In an exclusive interview, Muduvuri emphasized the importance of solidarity among war veterans, warning against the influence of external forces aiming to create division for their own gain.

Muduvuri, who has been a prominent figure in Zimbabwe’s business community for several years, expressed concern that individuals with significant financial resources might attempt to sow discord among the veterans. “We should not let outsiders divide us,” he stated firmly.

“We don’t want people who wants to divide our leadership President Mnangagwa, VP Chiwenga, VP Mohadi and our part chairperson are united and their focus is on improving people’s lives.

“The war veterans are the backbone of our nation’s struggle for independence. They fought valiantly for our freedoms, and they should not allow anyone to derail their unity or purpose.”

The businessman highlighted that the key to Zimbabwe’s future lies in a cohesive approach to national development, particularly in support of President Mnangagwa’s vision of transforming Zimbabwe into an upper-middle-income economy by the year 2030.

He said everyone’s focus is on preparing for next month independence celebrations in Gokwe Nembudziya and no one is concerned about so called planned protests.

“Everyone is now focusing on 18 April independence day not all these dates which are being called to cause confusion to Zimbabweans.

“This is a long-term objective that requires our collective support. We are all behind President Mnangagwa; he has demonstrated his capability to drive meaningful change in our economy and society,” Muduvuri shared.

Under Mnangagwa’s leadership, the government has initiated a number of policies aimed at stimulating economic growth, attracting foreign investments, and improving infrastructure. Muduvuri believes these efforts are crucial for the long-term stability and prosperity of Zimbabwe. “The vision for 2030 is not just a political slogan; it is a roadmap that will benefit all Zimbabweans, not just those in positions of power,” he explained. “When the economy grows, every citizen stands to gain, from the worker in the fields to the entrepreneur in the cities.”

In articulating this vision, Muduvuri urged the war veterans to be vigilant against any dissent that could lead them astray. It is important for all individuals to recognize the potential repercussions of their actions, especially when those actions could undermine our nation’s progress,” he noted.

Muduvuri’s comments come at a time when debates about economic policies and national direction are prevalent within Zimbabwe’s political landscape. Divisions among various factions of society, including among war veterans themselves, have at times threatened to hinder the progress that the nation desperately needs.

He believes that unity among all factions of the war veterans’ community is vital for upholding the interests of Zimbabweans.

“These veterans sacrificed their lives for our freedom, and now it is our duty to come together and safeguard the future they fought for. By supporting President Mnangagwa’s vision, we maintain the integrity of their legacy,” he argued.

Muduvuri’s call for unity resonates with many leaders and citizens who are optimistic about Zimbabwe’s trajectory. With the global economy recovering and opportunities for investment increasing, the sense of urgency to align behind a common goal has never been greater.

“We cannot afford to be divided especially at this pivotal moment in our history. What we need is a collective will—every citizen, every stakeholder, must play their role in building a prosperous Zimbabwe,” he stated passionately.

Muduvuri extended an invitation to all Zimbabweans to engage in dialogue that would foster a more unified approach to national development. “Let us not allow anyone to drive a wedge between us. We must all stand together, support our leaders, and strive toward a vision that promotes prosperity for all,” he encouraged.

In essence, Muduvuri’s message is one of hope and resilience—a reminder that unity among Zimbabweans is not only desirable but necessary for transformative and sustainable growth.
