NetOne to blacklist errand dealers

STATE-owned mobile network operator NetOne says all dealers or agencies overpricing sim cards and other related products will be blacklisted as distributors of NetOne products.

This comes as NetOne has begun cracking down on delinquent dealers and distributors to enforce standard pricing for all its products.

As such, NetOne has cautioned its customers to use official distribution channels to purchase or replace sim cards the mobile operator bids to fight the over-pricing of sim cards by dubious agents.

In a statement over the weekend, NetOne group chief executive Rapheal Mushanawani said sim card prices remain at US$1 or equivalent ZWL at the official interbank rate.

“All dealers or agencies that are found violating the sales standards set out by NetOne shall be blacklisted as distributors of NetOne products. The mission of NetOne is to leave a lasting impact, bring customers together, build enduring bonds, and foster trust.

“NetOne SIM cards are readily available throughout its distribution channels and customers can purchase new SIM cards or replace them at any of its channels including NetOne Shops, Zimpost outlets, and authorized dealers.

Mushanawani said the company noted with concern the outcry by customers of dubious agents who were overpricing NetOne products.

“There is no shortage of NetOne products and services, including SIM cards, airtime, devices, and other notable services which are conveniently accessible.”

“The company disassociates itself with such agents and condemns such practices.  We encourage customers to report any overpricing of SIM cards or related products that they come across.
