Nash Paints launches new plant

NASH Paints— a local paint manufacturing company— launched a new Decorative Paint Manufacturing plant worth US$1.1 million on Friday which is aimed at increasing production of paint from 2000litres a day to 18 000 litres.

The efficiency of this plant will help in making paint prices lower thereby making it affordable for their clientele base.

“The increased plant manufacturing capacity has helped significantly in cutting production costs for the business due to economies of scale and improved efficiency. Due to this there will be price cuts extended to our customers,” Joshua Sikamani, the firm’s finance manager, said.

The demand for decorative paint grew by an average of 50 percent since October 2021.

“After the I paint, I win promotion launched in October last year, the demand for decorative paint grew exponentially by an average of 50 percent month on month until the plant ran out of capacity by February 2022 due to the excellent quality of the paint. That is when we reached the decision to increase production capacity by commissioning this decorative paint manufacturing plant,” said Tinashe Mutarisi.

The new plant will improve the efficiency of productions for Nash Paints.

“In the month of July alone decorative paint production volumes grew by 127 percent. We project the exponential growth trajectory to continue month on month to an optimum plant capacitilisation of an average of 80 percent by December 2022,” he added.

The increased plant capacity also allowed the firm to launch a new product, the 3 in 1 primer sealer undercoat.

“The plant has afforded us the ability to fill a gap in the market for a multi layered economical, but high-performance surface priming product that can adequately provide priming and sealing requirements especially for new buildings as well as those building in wetlands,” Mutarisi.

“The new plant has improved the quality of the paint as well as the order to catch cycles to ensure improved and efficient service delivery to our Nash paint customers they will continue to enjoy,” he said.

Nash Paints opened its doors in 2006 and has over the years built a strong brand that is characterised by giving back to the community and selling high quality paint and paint accessories.
