A tipoff about the ceremony came during police interrogation on August 27 of a male dressed as a woman, Delta police spokesperson Edafe Bright said on Tuesday.

Mussa Taj jailed again

SUSPECTED armed robbers Mussa Taj Abdul and Charles Lundu have been slapped with an additional four year jail terms each over unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition.  

The two were convicted by Harare magistrate Shane Kubonera who slapped them with four years imprisonment for unlawful possession of the firearm and another four years for unlawful possession of ammunition. The sentences will, however, run concurrently. The two are again serving another five year jail term for unlawful possession of firearm.

The court heard that on August 24 2020, defectives from CID Homicide Harare learnt that Abdul and Lundu, who were wanted  for several armed robbery cases at CID Homicide Harare, had been arrested in Beitbridge by detectives from CID Drugs and Narcotics.Detectives from CID Homicide Harare,  comprising of detective sergeants Mudyawabikwa and Mangoma andDetective constables Hove and Chindove, went to Beitbridge to interview the two.


They were interviewed in connection with armed robbery cases which occured in Harare and they were brought to the capital for further management.
 On August 25, the two led detectives to the recovery of a 12 Bore Modified Bruno double barrel short gun loaded with 2×12 bore live cartridges at the flower bed outside house number 17 Rayl road in Borrowdale.

On August 31 2020, the recovered shot gun and ammunitions were taken for ballistic examination and they  did not have a valid firearm certificate or any lawful authority to be in possession of the firearm and ammunition.
