HARARE businessman, Cosmas Mushininga, has donated a set of computers, a printer and WiFI kit to Zanu PF’s district coordinating committee four in Borrowdale – a second such gesture after his provincial office bailout in June.
While the 47 year-old merchant’s desire is to see a modern and efficient party administrative system, he was virtually fulfilling his recent promise to capacitate several zones.
“As a member of the Harare provincial executive and your representative in that structure, l not only want to say this is a token of our appreciation and gratitude to Zanu PF’s grassroot supporters, but a profound gesture made in President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s honour and his vision for an empowered as well as enlightened society,” Mushininga said.
“As stated a few months ago, this equipment is also aimed at capturing and documenting party activities properly such as branch, and cell registrations as well as equip various wings with productive tools or assets that can create opportunities —through participation in the digital economy —for the generality of Zimbabweans, and advance our core ideology,” he said.
While Mushininga’s stated objective and desire is to help build a sustainable Zanu PF administrative system, he is of the firm view that some of the “equipment could be used to generate cash for meeting small and daily operational expenses”.
A firm believer in community development, the Harare businessman has previously donated books and ICT gadgets to the Harare Central Prison Primary School and initiatiated several income-generating projects for women, and youths in his zone four constituency.
