Mugadza appointed City assistant coach

FORMER Mighty Warriors coach Rosemary Mugadza has been roped in as one of Harare City assistant coaches following the departure of Lloyd Chitembwe.

Chitembwe dumped the Sunshine Boys this week together with his backroom staff to re-join CAPS United on a three-year deal.

The developed has since forced Harare City to appoint the Under-21 coach Tarisai Kaseke as the head coach on caretaker basis and will be assisted by Mugadza while Kelvin Togarasei from the Cubs will be the second assistant.

Mugadza is joining from Harare City’s women football team.

Harare City chief executive Tafadzwa Bhasera confirmed the development to the Daily News yesterday.

“For the sake of continuity as the club, we have appointed our Division One team coach Kaseke on interim basis,” she said.

“His second assistant coach will be Mugadza, while Togarasei will be the second assistant coach. Mugadza’s appointment is a positive development towards women empowerment in sport and I don’t think anyone can doubt her experience as a football coach.

“We wish the technical team the best and hope they will use this opportunity to grow their coaching career, while we are searching for the right coach to take the team forward.”
