Mhere, The Cherayis in anti-drug abuse crusade

GOSPEL music sensation Mathias Mhere is back in Chitungwiza where he will share the stage with equally talented gospel power couple Ellard and Sharon Cherayi at the Show Me Heaven concert.

The event, organised by the United Ambassadors of Christ Church, aimed at luring lost souls including drug addicts to the kingdom of God, will run from April 18 through to 20 at Unit L Grounds Seke in Chitungwiza.

“We are going to have musical performances from Mathias Mhere, The Cherayis, Tapiwa Masara and United Ambassadors of Christ Praise Team to attract many souls.

“Musicians will come to offer praise and worship. Established musicians also will attract a huge audience

“Our special guest speaker will be Apostle B Java. Main agenda of the revival is transformational messages along prayerline, healing, prophecy, deliverance,” the United Ambassadors of Christ Church’s Tafadzwa Macheka said.

Early this year, the church known for conducting community building initiatives, launched an anti-drug abuse campaign called “Save the Next Generation” which was aimed at combating drug abuse and substance addiction.

“We have been engaging the elderly and drug campaign on Saturdays from 10 am. We are trying to bring restoration and hope to lost souls. Because our main aim is to preach Jesus and win souls for the kingdom. This is a strategy to win souls and get them saved in Christ.”

Apart from the headliners, the event will also feature an array of both upcoming and rising musicians.

“In Chitungwiza, we have seen many parents seeking help for their children who are into drugs. We have been seeing a lot of young boys, some of them under the age of 15 taking drugs. We will also engage in counselling sessions and then preaching. We want to pull youths using the artists. We are going to use it as a soul winning occasion hence we are expecting a bumper crowd,” Macheka said.
