A MEGA housing project by Pinnacle Property Holdings is now going full-steam, with all access roads that had been under construction nearing completion.

This comes as leading roads and civil works contractor, Bitumen World, which is contracted by Pinnacle Property Holdings for the Nyore Nyore Housing project, has said the access roads would be completed in the coming days.

Giving an update to the media yesterday, Bitumen World chief surveyor, Karakadzai Mukombe, said the roads would be tarred before the end of next week — 33 days after clearing the site. “Next week, we will be turning these roads black. When we prime, we will leave the prime to penetrate while we are on the contractors shutdown break.

“Then when we come back in January we will start by surfacing. The first week of January when you come, you will be driving on the tarred road. “The other thing that you don’t see is our drainage. We have already installed our culverts.

“At the moment we only have three that are outstanding on this road. All the other roads we have installed the culverts,” Mukombe told journalists. On his part, Pinnacle Property Holdings chairman, Philip Chiyangwa, described the development as superb.

“Remarkable results. I am ecstatic … We are now in day 33 and these guys (Bitumen World) have just finished roads for phase 1. “So, in about a week’s time or two, these guys will have done the road tarring of phase 1. This means that stands in phase 1 would be available on the market very soon.

“Then we go to phase 2 and then move over to another phase. So, I am extremely excited. It’s very good and impressive,” Chiyangwa said.

Chiyangwa also said Bitumen World was well ahead of schedule. The Nyore Nyore Housing scheme will see 250 000 stands going on sale in Manyame, outside Chitungwiza, in the coming weeks — ahead of the roll-out of a further one million ervens next year.

The Nyore Nyore Housing Scheme seeks to avail tens of thousands of affordable stands and compact housing units to low income earners on friendly terms.

The first phase of the national project has already started with Tantallon Estates and Edinburgh Estates — which are all in Manyame. The scheme will also see development in Chegutu, Kadoma, Chinhoyi, Kariba and the Victoria Falls in the new year.
