THE Medical Aid Society of Central Africa (MASCA) is celebrating 80 years of trust, resilience, and service to members and its broader community.
Speaking at the 80th anniversary commemoration which ran under the theme “Mission: Possible” in Bulawayo, MASCA chief finance officer Tashinga Chimuti highlighted that the medical aid society’s continued existence is a testament of remarkable survival and renewal.
“This year’s global customer appreciation week theme, “Mission: Possible”, is very befitting for us as MASCA.
“It not only reflects our belief that progress despite hardship is achievable, but also our determination to make it happen, together, “she said.
“This event would not have been possible without the generous support of our strategic partners and sponsors.
“These are Econet Life, our Diamond Sponsor, whose partnership continues to inspire innovation in product development and member value;
“Prognosis, our Silver Sponsor whose technology solutions have been integral to our transformation; and HAC, also a Silver Sponsor, for their continuous partnership in supporting member wellness and emergency care,” Chimuti said further as she expressed gratitude to MASCA’s stakeholders for their loyalty.
“To each of you — our partners, clients, providers, and friends — thank you for walking this journey with us.
“Your collaboration and belief in MASCA make this “mission possible”.
Meanwhile, chief executive officer Douglas Bramsen noted that looking forward, MASCA will be strengthening collaborations and partnerships as it continues to leverage on technological advancements.
“We have reflected on 80 years of service — a history marked by perseverance, learning, and growth.
“But more importantly, we have looked ahead to a future driven by partnership, digital transformation, and a renewed commitment to our members, “he said.
“I am reminded that our journey is far from over. In many ways, it is just beginning.
“With the same faith and teamwork that brought us here, we will continue to make our mission possible — one member, one partnership, one provider, and one innovation at a time.”
Founded in 1946, MASCA began as a small initiative grounded in one belief — that access to quality healthcare should be possible for all.
Eight decades later, that belief continues to guide MASCA.
Despite the difficult years, through strong governance, faith, and collective effort, the company has endured and is transforming once again.
