JESTER Media Services Group (JMSG) has paid tribute to its employee and much-loved graphic designer, Godfrey Wozhele, who died yesterday after a short illness.
JMSG are the owners of the Daily News, Daily News On Sunday, The Financial Gazette, 3Ktv and BusinessLive.
Wozhele was a senior graphic designer at The Financial Gazette. He was 42 years old.
JMSG Editor-In-Chief, Guthrie Munyuki, described Wozhele, who was known by his colleagues as “Goddie”, as a true professional who loved his job.
“We have lost a gentleman and consummate professional. We are saddened and deeply-pained by his sudden death.
“His loyalty and true professionalism will be sorely missed. Our deepest condolences to his wife, Blessing, son Munya and the Wozhele family,” said Munyuki.
Family spokesperson and Wozhele’s brother-in-law, Leonard Gubwe, said the late newspaperman had been taken ill at Parirenyatwa hospital on Wednesday evening.
“He called me on Wednesday, saying he was having challenges with flu. His wife later phoned me, advising me that Godfrey had been admitted at Parirenyatwa hospital, where he was placed on oxygen. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead today (yesterday) morning.
“Burial arrangements are not yet finalised as the family is still waiting for other members and relatives to decide where he will be buried,” Gubwe said.
Mourners are gathered in Dzivaresekwa, in Harare.
