INTEGRATED media organisation Jester Media Services (JMS) Group, owners of independent national commercial television station, 3Ktv, the Daily News and the Daily News On Sunday and leading business weekly, The Financial Gazette (Fingaz), yesterday donated clothes to Jairos Jiri Harare centre.
Speaking during the donation, JMS group representative, Fingaz sales and advertising manager, Christinah Machaka, applauded Jairos Jiri for the work they were doing to assist persons with disability.
“We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude for the incredible work you are doing in supporting those living with different abilities. It is a pleasure to contribute by donating clothes, and I hope they bring comfort and joy to the recipients. Thank you for making a positive impact in our community.
“We are also encouraging all our stakeholders to come forth and donate, no matter the quantity, as it will make a difference,” Machaka said.
On his part, Jairos Jiri Harare centre assistant manager, Stanslas Gova, said the JMS donation would go a long way in helping the children at the centre, and called on other stakeholders to assist the centre.
“We have a holding capacity of 200, but currently we have 168 children who come from all the corners of Zimbabwe, especially from poor backgrounds,” Gova said.
“We depend mainly on donations and we accept any form of donation just like what JMS has done to us today, it has donated a lot of goodies here.
“It’s going to help a number of children we have here. All the children are going to benefit from the donation. We are appealing to all other corporate organisations, churches, schools to come and donate because without you, the corporate world, we cannot survive. We need almost everything like food, clothing and bedding.”
Speaking at the same event, Lindah Lebogang, a spouse to a Botswana diplomat accredited to Zimbabwe, Lovermore Tafa, appealed to Zimbabweans to help the centre. Lebogang is currently on attachment at Jairos Jiri Centre.
“I am appealing to all people to play a part in this country and help in the rehabilitation of kids around Zimbabwe, especially here at Jairos Jiri because there is a lot of work,” she said.
