SUNGURA guru Hosiah Chipanga will be the major draw card at tonight’s Jam Session hosted by City Sports Bar in Harare.
He will share the stage with a host of other musicians in the form of Attack Forces, Stumu aka Mr Chinhoyi, Papa Lodza and his Image Band, Ocean Waves and Talking Guitars among others.
“We are so excited to host legendary artiste Chipanga tonight after such a long time. Before the Covid-19 outbreak, Chipanga used to be a regular performer at the event— Jam Session— and it is good that we are hosting him tonight,” City Sports Bar manager Hapaguti “Harpers” Mapimhidze said.
The previous edition of the popular weekly event was headlined by Dendera music star Tryson Chimbetu and highly energetic performer Kessia “Muchaneta” Masona.
Jam Session is a platform meant to promote local acts.
“The idea is to give artistes a platform to showcase their works before a sizable crowd and we are happy the weekly event is bearing some fruits.”
According to the event organisers, the platform has seen hundreds of musicians taking turns to entertain revellers over the years and these include Progress Chipfumo, Kireni Zulu, First Farai, Tendai Chimombe, Simba Saini, Simon Mutambi and Tete Pipilo among others.
