Cimas, SmileStar roll out dental outreach

CIMAS Health Group has partnered with UK-based charity SmileStar to host a free dental outreach programme in Matabeleland.
The initiative, part of Cimas’ Corporate Social Responsibility programme, aims to provide free oral healthcare to underserved communities while promoting dental hygiene.
“The outreach programme reflects our commitment to improving access to healthcare services in marginalised communities,” said Cimas head of dental clinics, Alan Gura.
This year’s outreach was expanded to include Matabeleland South following overwhelming requests from communities.
The programme began on March 9 in Victoria Falls, where volunteer professionals provided free consultations, treatments, and education to residents.
From March 13 to 14, the team is stationed in Hwange at Miombo Safari Camp.
The outreach will then move to Matobo from March 17 to 18 at Ethandweni Children’s Home, before concluding at Matopo Mission Clinic on March 20.
The programme is hosted in partnership with Victoria Falls Safari Lodge, Hwange Safari Lodge, and the Amalinda Collection. Founder of SmileStar, Mitesh Badiani, praised the collaboration.
“The partnership demonstrates the power of collaboration in addressing oral health challenges faced by many communities,” said Badiani.
