Byo sitcom airs on ZBC TV
THE long-awaited 13-episode situational sitcom titled Indlalifa (The Heir) which features award-winning local musicians Tebza and Paulla Paloma premiered yesterday on ZBC TV, something which is positive news to local drama enthusiasts.
The new weekly sitcom which highlights the day-to-day lives of youths in the country is a product of AJV AFRIART Entertainment Company in conjunction with ZBC TV.
The production’s author Jeffrey Sibanda was thrilled to finally have the project being premiered. “We are more than thrilled to finally give the public the long awaited sitcom. We are certain it will be as thrilling and entertaining as promised.
“We can’t wait to see the public response towards the show’s twists and turns and the cast. We are looking forward to having a fan base we can relate with and continue producing the show for. Today our dream came true, thus making Bulawayo proud.”
The youthful artist who is a product of Amakhosi Academy said as part of publicising the production in different parts of the world, they will from next week post the show on YouTube.
The series was produced by Allen Chigumira, created and written by Sibanda. It stars Paloma, Prince Luphahla (Afri-Art Programmes Coordinator), Tebogo ‘‘Tebza’’ Moyo (award-winning Wazkhoth’lihlo hit maker), Clinton Ndlovu (actor), Michelle Mabuza (model) and Kelvin Sibanda (veteran artist).
“Various themes are brought out in a humorous way as characters solve, talk of child abuse, drug abuse, child marriage, unemployment rate issues, gender-based violence and Vuzu parties among others.
“The main idea of the sitcom is to make people laugh through depicting a comic angle of everyday situations in life.”
