British embassy ecstatic about ZITF exhibition

THE British embassy on Friday said their exhibition at Zimbabwe International Trade Fair (ZITF) which opens next week will be bigger and better, building on the momentum set last year.

The embassy returned to exhibit at the premier business exhibition last year after a 20 year hiatus. “We exhibited for the first time in 20 years last year. We are looking to build on that momentum to bring the UK projects and capabilities to the fore. We see this as an opportunity to spotlight our trade and investment opportunities.

“That is why we are going bigger and better this year. Our stand is over four times bigger than last year and we are very excited about it,” said an official during a media briefing in the capital on Friday.

The official said the British embassy would use this year’s exhibition to ‘showcase the full range of what we do in terms of investments in agriculture, health care and infrastructure’. “We are trying to find opportunities in Zimbabwe and link them with partners and investors in the UK,” said the offi cial.

The embassy will host a reception for its stakeholders at the ZITF stand on April 25th. The ZITF is held annually at the Zimbabwe International Exhibition Centre in Bulawayo, and this year it will run under the theme:

“Transformative Innovation, Global Competitiveness.” The show will run from April 25 to 29, with the first three days reserved for business. More than 100 first-time exhibitors including the European Union have registered to participate in the 63rd edition of the ZITF as the Second Republic’s re- engagement and engagement drive continues to bear fruits. — New Ziana
