IN AN era where the relationship between sport and corporate responsibility is more vital than ever, CABS has emerged as an example of what it means to invest in Zimbabwe’s future, both on and off the field.
At the heart of the sponsorship are Zimbabwe’s five major domestic teams, Eagles, Rhinos, Tuskers, Mountaineers, and Southern Rocks.
These provincial sides compete in the country’s premier tournaments, including the Logan Cup, the Pro50 Championship, and the Domestic T20 Competition, which represent the pinnacle of local cricket.
“This sponsorship is more than support for cricket. It is a commitment to the dreams of Zimbabwe’s young people,” said CABS managing director Mehluli Mpofu.
“Across the country, there are talented, passionate young people who see sport as a pathway to opportunity, purpose, and pride. At CABS, we recognise that potential. By investing in domestic cricket, we are answering their call, building platforms for growth, and helping shape a future where every young Zimbabwean has a chance to shine.”
Cricket sponsorship is not new territory for CABS. The financial institution’s relationship with the game spans more than two decades, with its first sponsorship of T20 cricket dating back to 2004. Since then, CABS has supported the sport at various levels, helping discover and nurture young talent across Zimbabwe’s sporting landscape.
“We are grateful to CABS for coming on board as a valued partner in our domestic cricket journey,” said Zimbabwe Cricket managing director Givemore Makoni.
“This kind of corporate support plays an important role in strengthening the game’s foundation and enabling long-term growth. For our provincial teams, it means greater stability and the ability to invest more consistently in key areas such as player welfare, coaching, and talent development. These are essential to building a stronger pipeline for the future of Zimbabwean cricket.”
