KOREAN ambassador to Zimbabwe Park Jae Kyung has praised artists Hope Masike and John Cole who thrilled fans at the K-Pop festival which was recently held in Harare.
The two songbirds transported the audience into frenzy, from their pristine vocals to the band and backing vocals ferocious play and the intense choreography with standout moments
Park Jae Kyung said apart from the two’s flawless performance, theK-Pop festival had gone beyond entertainment and a festival the bring people together for a noble cause.
“I am learning how to love myself.” This, in a sense, is a simple message, but is deeply resounding and powerful thanks to their sincere voices, attitude and the message itself.”
“This is more than entertaining. At the same time, we can often read about stories of K-Pop bands’ making generous donations for children in underdeveloped countries. Good stories and good messages always make a good influence.
“We also have an excellent opportunity to enjoy collaboration by John Cole and Hope Masike,” Kyung said.
He also said the embassy will next month hold an exhibition at the National Art Gallery as part of their 30th anniversary celebrations and more other events are lined up to celebrate Korea-Zimbabwe relations.
Korea now sees Africa with renewed emphasis and tries to have closer friendship and partnership.
In July, there will be an exhibition at the National Gallery of Art. Korean artefacts, which are made from recycled materials, will be displayed together with similar Zimbabwean artefacts made by local artists.
“In September, a Taekwondo performance team, named Kukkiwon Team, from Korea will come to Harare and demonstrate top class Taekwondo skills. Kukkiwon is the name of World Taekwondo Headquarters. And that’s why I can confidently say they are the world’s best Taekwondo team.
“And in October, another K-Festival is to be held in Harare, with a renowned Korean B-boying dance team, named Jinjo Crew,” Kuyang said further.
