THE hugely popular series Bundu, which airs on 3Ktv, is celebrating a milestone after notching 100 episodes on Zimbabwe’s most-watched private television channel.
The show, which promotes the conservation of flora and fauna, airs every Wednesday at 19:00 on 3Ktv which is also accessible on DStv channel 293.
“The journey has been an interesting one. We have achieved a lot together and we have also learnt a number of lessons,” said 3Ktv’s Head of Programming, Lucia Kanyongo.
“As 3Ktv, we are delighted to be part of the Bundu series, and we look forward to the growth of the series.” Eddie Ndhlovu, the writer and codirector of the series, highlighted the significance of reaching this milestone and emphasized the role 3Ktv has played in the show’s success.
“This month marks a significant milestone for Bundu television series, as we proudly celebrate two remarkable years of broadcasting on 3Ktv.
“As we reflect on our eight successful seasons, it is evident that 3Ktv has played a pivotal role in our journey. “Its invaluable platform has allowed Bundu to reach a broad audience, providing a stage for our stories to resonate with viewers across the nation.
In a competitive media environment where many local TV dramas struggle to survive beyond their third season, Bundu has successfully captured audiences with its engaging plots that reflect the realities of everyday life,” Ndhlovu said.
He added that the airing of the 100th episode is a testament to their commitment to delivering quality storytelling. “This month also culminates in the airing of our 100th episode, a testament to our unwavering commitment to delivering captivating storytelling to our audience,” he said.
“The journey to establish Bundu as a household name in the local television landscape of Zimbabwe has been both challenging and rewarding, characterised by hard work, perseverance, and consistency.” Ndhlovu teased viewers with the promise of an exciting season ahead, featuring a mix of familiar and new characters.
“In our new season, we delve into the complexities of love and family dynamics as Angie and JB prepare for their wedding. However, the path to their nuptials is fraught with obstacles, including the interference of relatives who wish to see the wedding thwarted.
“This season promises to deliver a compelling mix of old and new characters, introducing unexpected twists and turns that will keep our audience on the edge of their seats,” he said.
He also credited the dedication of the Bundu cast and crew for the show’s ongoing success. “The dedication and hard work of the Bundu cast and crew have been instrumental in our success. Their relentless pursuit of excellence, especially during challenging times, has been the backbone of our show’s achievements.
“Our producer, Talent Chitauro, deserves special recognition for her exceptional leadership and commitment to steering the show through both triumphs and tribulations, a challenging task that she has handled with grace and professionalism.”
