IN A GRAND celebration of women’s achievements and empowerment, national independent commercial television station, 3Ktv, will host the International Women’s Month Launch, Awards, and Dinner at the Rainbow Towers Hotel on March 3.
Under the powerful theme “Accelerating Action: Empowering Women, Enhancing Zimbabwe,” the event promises an evening of inspiration, recognition, and networking.
International Women’s Month, celebrated every March, is a global recognition of the invaluable contributions women make across various fields and sectors.
It serves as a powerful reminder of the progress made toward gender equality while highlighting the challenges that remain.
Originating from early 20th-century movements advocating for women’s rights and suffrage, this month-long observance is dedicated to honouring women’s achievements, promoting gender equity, and advocating for policies that support women’s advancement in society.
The month’s activities include awareness campaigns, conferences, awards, and networking events that emphasise the crucial role women play in shaping communities and economies worldwide.
The minister of Women Affairs, Monica Mutsvangwa, would be the guest of honour on the night and expected to set the tone for an evening dedicated to honouring Zimbabwean women who have made remarkable contributions in various sectors.
Other distinguished speakers would include President of PROWEB, Tendai HlupoMamvura, and CEO of Zimbabwe Women’s Bank, Mandas Marikanda, who will share their insights on fostering women’s economic participation and leadership in Zimbabwe.
The event would feature an exclusive awards ceremony recognising women who have demonstrated excellence in business, leadership, innovation, and community development.
The awards aim to shine a spotlight on trailblazers who are making significant strides in shaping a more inclusive and progressive Zimbabwe.
Beyond the glitz and glamour, the dinner would also serve as a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration, bringing together policymakers, corporate leaders, entrepreneurs, and activists committed to advancing gender equality and empowering women in the socioeconomic sphere.
Tickets for this prestigious gathering are available at an investment fee of $80 or the Zimbabwe Gold (ZIG) equivalent.
The event promises not just a night of celebration, but also an opportunity to forge strategic partnerships and explore ways to fast-track gender-inclusive economic development.
With an atmosphere of elegance and a spirit of empowerment, the 3Ktv International Women’s Month Launch, Awards, and Dinner is set to be a landmark event, reinforcing the crucial role women play in the growth and development of Zimbabwe.
