INDEPENDENT commercial television station, 3Ktv, main news anchor Hazel Zisanhi has been re-elected as Zimbabwe Institute of Public Relations (ZIPR) president for another one-year term.
Zisanhi, who is also the corporate communications and industry relations manager at the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA), would be deputised by Internews’ Thandolwenkosi Nkomo in the executive that was voted into office at the recently-held ZIPR annual general meeting.
The new ZIPR executive also includes Chapungu Football Club public relations officer Kennedy Khombo, who has taken over from Paidamoyo Chipunza, as the institute’ secretary, Prudence Mukandatsama (public relations officer ), Caven Masuku (education and mentorship), Bongiwe Ngwenya (social media and events portfolio) and Lloyd Gumbo (social media and events portfolio).
Zisanhi, who sits on the boards of the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee and the Zimbabwe National Boxing and Wrestling Control Board, promised to undertake various initiatives to further the interests of the ZIPR, which was established in 1957.
“As the newly-elected council, we plan to organise various training sessions, workshops and networking events, all aimed at enhancing the knowledge, skills and performance of our distinguished members while giving them value for their membership,” she said.
