3Ktv continuing to dazzle nation

LEADING independent national commercial television station, 3Ktv, launches its 13th season today, which will showcase many new and riveting programmes.

This comes after the fast-growing and history making station celebrated its third anniversary of uninterrupted live broadcasting on Friday — while also besting its industry peers yet again at the weekend after it won more awards.

Zweli Sibanda, the Managing Director of Jester Media Services’ (JMS) Broadcasting Division, told the Daily News last night that the station’s 13th season would be “as enthralling as usual and feature ‘The Best of Zimbabwe’ as per our style”.

“Season 13 ensures that as we start our fourth year of live broadcastingas 3Ktv we will continue to lead the way for the local industry.

“There is a whole new package of engrossing programming that includes our exciting partnership with Scottland Football Club. “The 30 minute football magazine on the swashbuckling club will air every Friday from at 7pm for the entire 2025 season.

“The show will carry behind the scenes footage, highlights of the club’s matches, its supporters’ views, referees’ analyses of big match calls and other interesting insights on the club. “This is a very big development in our sports coverage,” Sibanda said.

“We are also going to have a new show called ‘Man to Man’ — which looks into the challenges that modern men face. “We are also going to screen for the first time a show called Injanja, which is predominantly Tonga. This is part of 3Ktv’s efforts to promote as many local languages as possible

“Of course, many of the hugely popular viewer favourites that include The DNA Show, Bundu and Vantage will continue in Season 13,” Sibanda also said.

This comes after The DNA Show by Tinashe Mugabe won the Outstanding Screen Production at the National Arts Merit Awards that were held in Harare at the weekend. On Friday, 3Ktv celebrated its third anniversary, having made tremendous commercial progress over the past year despite the country’s challenging operating environment.

This saw key stakeholders once again extolling the station’s rich programming, impact in the market and impressive set up. Speaking during the station’s third birthday celebrations, the minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Jenfan Muswere, was among the notable guests who expressed delight with the immense strides that 3Ktv has made since its launch on the 28th of February 2022.

“As we seek to ensure that we inform, educate and entertain the nation, what distinguishes 3Ktv from other broadcasters in our country and from the other international broadcasters is the content.

“I want to appreciate what 3Ktv has done in terms of diversity and developing a robust arts and media industry in the country. 3Ktv is one of the major achievements, in terms of the 8 000 projects that we always talk about … that have been achieved under the Second Republic,” Muswere said then.
