THE country’s first and fastest growing private national television station, 3Ktv, has won yet another gong — this time for its sterling contribution to business development in Zimbabwe.
Zweli Sibanda, the Managing Director of Jester Media Services’ Broadcasting Division, said the station’s latest award was a testament to 3Ktv’s stunning success and its rising positive impact on the country.
This comes after the station, which celebrated two years of live and uninterrupted broadcasting in February this year, landed the Outstanding Service in Media and Broadcasting (Gold Winner) from the Zimbabwe CEO’s Network.
“This award is further proof of 3Ktv’s runaway success and its growing impact in the country. “Indeed, the support that the station continues to receive from Zimbabweans and our group’s business partners is out of this world. May this long continue.
“This award, and the many others that we received over the past two-anda-half years also speak volumes about the laudable work of 3Ktv’s staff and their colleagues in the wider Jester Media Services Group,” Sibanda added.
3Ktv was licensed in November 2020 after coming tops in a competitive and public bidding process. It went on air amid palpable excitement on February 28 in 2022, becoming the first licensed private commercial station to operate in the country since television was first introduced in the then Southern Rhodesia in November 1960.
Apart from the television station, JMS also owns some of the country’s biggest and most influential media brands that include the Daily News, the Daily News On Sunday, its printing division Printco, Jester Events, online business newsletter Business Live, and The Financial Gazette — the country’s number one business publication.
