LEADING national independent commercial television station, 3Ktv, will today launch its much-anticipated “festive season” 16th season.

The managing director of Jester Media Services Group’s (JMS) Broadcasting Division, Zweli Sibanda, said yesterday that the new season would continue the tradition of offering 3Ktv’s viewers gripping local, regional and international programming.

“It’s so fitting that Season 16 will also see us entering our fourth year of successful, live broad- GEORGE GUVAMATANGA casting, since 3K launched in February 2022 to become the country’s first ever private television station.

“Indeed, we are continuing to blaze the trail and to innovate as we strive to remain Zimbabwe’s most watched television channel on satellite.

“On that score, the new season will, as expected, have a festive feel, with plenty of riveting family programming,” Sibanda told the Daily News.

“Season 16 will also see us continuing to crank up our programme offerings, with a heightened focus on local, as well as regional content and movies,” he added.

Sibanda also highlighted the exciting introduction of Chinese content to the channel for the first time — including dramas that showcased the Asian giant’s rich culture.

“We are super excited about this new relationship, as well as with our other strong and long-standing content partnerships. As we enter the homestretch of the festive season, 3Ktv will ensure that viewers thoroughly enjoy this magical period of the year,” he added.

Besides the festive season programming, the station will continue with its popular and award-winning shows that include Bundu, the DNA Show and Vantage.

3Ktv, which broadcasts 24 hours every day of the week, launched its services on February 28, 2022 — to become the first licensed free-to-air private station to operate in the country since television was first introduced in the then Southern Rhodesia in November 1960.

Apart from the television station, JMS also owns some of the country’s biggest, universally known and most influential media brands that include the inimitable Daily News, the Daily News On Sunday, its printing division Printco, Jester Events, online business newsletter Business Live, and The Financial Gazette — the country’s number one business publication and prime voice for industry and commerce — as well as the recently launched Radio 3000.
