CHIVI South Member of Parliament Killer Zivhu on Friday donated maize meal and other basic necessities to a woman who is daily feeding over 2 000 hungry people in Chitungwiza during the current coronavirus lockdown.

Zivhu donated 100kgs of maize meal and basic necessities to Samantha Murozoki of Lockdown Relief Kitchen that is feeding thousabds of people in the dormitory town for free.

The philanthropist Zivhu committed to mobilise funding for the feeding programme. He pledged $5 000 weekly to the kitchen.

“I was touched when I saw a video on social media that in Zimbabwe there are people with great hearts and willing to help others with the little they have in this time of Covid-19,” Zivhu said.

“It is amazing that Samantha went to the extent of selling her own clothes in order to feed others.”

Murozoki started the Lockdown Relief Kitchen feeding only 47 people daily at the beginning of the lockdown. The number has since gone up to over 2 000.
