YUTONG Zimbabwe on Tuesday unveiled its D14 front-engine coach as part of its commitment to improve the country’s transport services for both operators and passengers.

Speaking at the launch in Harare, the deputy minister of Transport Joshua Sacco said the strong collaboration between the government and private Sector in driving innovation in transport was vital for easy transportation that aid economic growth.

He also highlighted the importance of integrating speed monitoring systems with government-controlled tracking to enforce real-time penalties for traffic violations, a critical step toward curbing road accidents which the State said had become a cause of concern.

“I have known about the Yutong brand for many years, and over the years, Yutong has been everywhere in Zimbabwe. I believe that it must rely on their high-quality products and services to make the cumulative sales of Yutong buses in Zimbabwe continue to rise.”

“The use of these buses has significantly improved the travel conditions of our people. To make people more convenient to travel is also the pursuit of the Ministry of Transport,” he said.

With an extended body capable of accommodating up to 77 passengers without compromising comfort, the D14 aims to boost operational efficiency and revenue potential for transport operators. The D14 boasts a modern exterior featuring LED headlights with a lifespan of 50 000 hours, consuming only 30W of power.

“Our country is developing rapidly, and the speed of road construction is getting faster and faster.  More lines will be opened in the future; I am very concerned about people’s travel safety,”

“I heard that the D14 bus is specially designed for the road conditions in Zimbabwe and has made great improvements in safety. That is what I’m really looking forward to seeing. I sincerely wish Yutong D14 conference a complete success! I wish Yutong’s business in Zimbabwe will continue to thrive and write a more brilliant chapter in the history of friendly cooperation between the two countries,” Sacco said.

Meanwhile, one of Yutong`s clients said: “Yutong is willing to listen to the feedback and suggestions of our vehicle users, and can make improvements according to our feedback, meet our needs, and truly treat our users as partners. “

“We look forward to working with Yutong to contribute more to the development of the transport industry in Zimbabwe in the coming days,” he said.

The luggage compartment has been expanded by 40 percent, compared to previous models. It now offers 15.5 cubic meters of storage space to meet the growing demand for passenger luggage capacity.

The Yutong bus launch ended on a high note, and several lucky participants walked away with prizes after a lottery draw.
