SONGBIRDS Tariro Negitare and Adiona Maboreke-Chidzonga along with rising star Blessing “bled” Chimanga will take part in an online concert on Wednesday to mark World Hearing Day.
World Hearing Day is held on March 3 every year to raise awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote ear and hearing care across the world.
Bled, who has toured Italy and Asia and the United States of America, has described the forthcoming as a platform to raise awareness on the problem of hearing loss.
“Did you know that Hearing loss is real? Yet it’s not spoken about a lot well but it’s high time we know more about it and help those that need the help
“World Hearing Day is coming soon and I am excited to be playing this online concert with my two favourites Adiona Maboreke-Chidzonga and Tariro neGitare. Together we will celebrate this day and also share tools on how one can get help around the issues to do with hearing loss and all,” said the Maruva Enyika hit-maker.
According to Bled, the World Hearing Day online concert is being organised by the AudioMax Group -the only Zimbabwean institution which does surgery for cochlear implants- electronic devices that partially restores hearing – in partnership with WizEar Trust which provides hearing health care solutions to marginalised Zimbabweans. Both organisations were formed by highly respected Zimbabwean ear, nose and throat surgeon, Clemence Chidziva.
“If we commemorate World Cancer Day we should also celebrate World Hearing Day. There are so many people who have hearing loss problems who possibly do not know where to get help. That is why we have partnered with Audiomax and Wizear Trust to raise awareness on this important issue,” Bled told the Daily News.
The online concert will BE streamed live on the AudioMax Audiology Centres & WizEar Zimbabwe Facebook pages.
