A HARARE man yesterday appeared before the Harare Magistrates’ Court for allegedly stealing his girlfriend’s two cars.
Brian Mandofa, 32, who is now facing theft of trust property charges, allegedly stole the cars belonging to his girlfriend Margret Mashongwa, 41, an immigration official.
He will be back in court tomorrow for bail ruling.
It is the State’s case that in January this year, Mashongwa gave Mandofa a Toyota Toyoace for safe keeping, but allowed him to use it as well.
Prosecutors further said that Mandofa was given another motor vehicle, a Toyota Belta in April in order to take it to the garage for repairs, while she left for Chirundu Border Post for work.
Allegations are that later during the month of April, Mashongwa asked Mandofa to bring back the two cars, but he started giving excuses and would at times not pick up her calls or shouted at her.
