Rap battles afforded space
JIBILIKA will from this year afford rap battles their own platform dubbed “2020 Come Back Rap Battle” to be launched at the Jibilika Studio at Batanai Gardens on February 22.
Traditionally, Jibilika used to host Rap Battles as a small segment of the monthly Hip-hop Cyphers.
Jibilika operations and community manager Mukudzei Nyamhamba said they had realised that there was exponential growth in the rap battles, hence hosting them separately on a monthly basis.
Nyamhamba said the move to create the stand alone rap battle platform will benefit a lot of artistes and the Hip-Hop culture as a whole. “We are delighted that quite a number of such platforms have started to pop up not only in Harare but also in Bulawayo and other cities too.”
Nyamhamba added that the 2020 Come Back Rap Battles shall be sponsored by 321 Beatz, an upcoming Harare-based content distribution company which Jibilika has partnered on a long-term relationship to help grow the music sector in Zimbabwe.
“This long term relationship will see many artists benefit from our platforms not only in monetary terms but in other developmental ways.”
