Ngezi Platinum to unveil Chiragwi
FORMER Shabanie Mine coach Takesure Chiragwi is set to be unveiled as one of Ngezi Platinum Stars’ assistant coaches when they announce their squad for the 2020 Castle Lager Premiership season this morning in Mhondoro.
Chiragwi is coming in as Rodwell Dhlakama’s second assistant coach alongside Alexio Sijoni, who joined the club last season, and goalkeeper’s coach Cosmas Zulu.
The club rewarded Dhlakama with a three-year contract after turning their fortunes following an underwhelming first half of the campaign under Dutchman Erol Akbay.
Dhlakama was originally contracted in a caretaker capacity until the end of the season and went on to revive the team so impressively since taking over from Akbay in September 2019.
Madamburo eventually finished the season in fourth place which looked impossible during the wobbling tenure of Akbay.
The former Chapungu coach also led Ngezi Platinum Stars to the Chibuku Super Cup final before losing to Highlanders albeit in controversial circumstances courtesy of a Prince Dube contentious strike.
Ngezi Platinum Stars have been quietly going about their business as they bid to finally lift their maiden title and today, they will unveil some of their new players that are set to do duty in the upcoming season.
In their pursuit for glory, Madamburo have signed playmaker Denver Mukamba from Chapungu and striker Wellington Taderera from Black Rhinos.
Former Triangle United quartet of Marion Chang, Kudzai Chigwidza, Anelka Chivandire and Tito Chintuli have also made the switch to Baobab Stadium.
After today’s event, the team is set to leave for a pre-season tour of South Africa where they are expected to intensify their pre-season preparations.
