FUNERAL service for Mitchelle Amuli, aka Moana, which was supposed to be held yesterday at Doves Funeral Parlour could not go ahead as the late fitness trainer’s parents could not agree on the modalities.

Moana’s father, Ishamel who is Islamic, clashed with the mother, who is a Christian.

Moana’s parents separated some time ago.

Family sources who had gathered at the funeral parlour yesterday told the Daily News Moana’s father wanted to bury her daughter in line with his religion’s norms and values while the mother wanted it to be in line with Christianity.

Moana is, however, expected to be buried today at the Zororo Memorial Park near Chitungwiza.

“The body will be taken from Parirenyatwa tomorrow morning (today) to Doves Funeral Parlour.

“From there, we will decide what to do next. We will advise on the next move once the body arrives at Doves,” Moana’s uncle, from the mother’s side, Austin Chimedza, said.

Moana died in an accident which also claimed the life of businessman Genius “Ginimbi” Kadungure two weeks ago.

Moana died on November 8 aboard a twin-turbocharged 6.6-litre V-12 Rolls Royce Wraith on her way to Domboshava after her colourful and classy 26th birthday anniversary celebration at the Dreams Night Club in the capital.

Meanwhile, Kadungure was buried on Saturday at his multi-million dollar Domboshava mansion.

Moana’s burial has taken longer as she was burnt beyond recognition, together with two foreign nationals who were in Kadungure’s vehicle.

“As a result, the DNA route was taken to ascertain the deceased’s identities.

The Daily News has also learnt that Limumba Karim, the Malawian man who was travelling together with Kadungure, was buried in South Africa some days ago.

Karim was wanted in Malawi in connection with cash scandals he allegedly committed.
