GOSPEL diva Mercy Mutsvene has hailed her eldest son Tanatswa for following in her footsteps. This comes as Tanatswa has lined up a debut single titled Barika which is expected on the market anytime this week.
“The first fruit of my womb has embarked on a new journey. He is my multi-talented baby, drummer, guitarist, keyboard master, producer and God fearing man. May the Lord keep you and protect you and keep on loving and doing the work of God and you shall never lack, I am proud of you son,” the Handingabvumi hit maker said.
Tanatswa joinea a long listof musicians’ children who have released their own songs. The list includes the likes of Tinashe Chivaviro and the Charamba daughters Shalom and Eternity, who launched their separate singles mid-last year.
The Charamba girls launched their singles after Alick Macheso’s daughter Stacey unveiled her track Ingozi without the help of her legendary father. The song talks of an avenging spirit that is wreaking havoc in the family, causing problems including sicknesses, fights and general social upheavals which result in failure by the head of the family to sleep at his home. In the song, the singer urges the family to come together to appease the spirit.
