Man axes wife, attempts suicide

A MUZARABANI man axed his wife to death over infidelity issues and immediately took poison before surrendering himself to the police, hoping to die after making a confession,  the High Court has heard.
Moses Busenti pleaded guilty to the murder charge when he appeared before High Court judge Justice Joseph Musakwa, but a plea of “not guilty” had to be recorded in accordance with the law.

The court heard that after reporting the murder, Busenti was rushed to a hospital where the poison was drained before he made indications on how he had murdered his wife.

His wife’s body was discovered in a pool of blood hidden under a heap of clothes with two deep cuts on the head and one on the left shoulder.

The trial has been adjourned pending arrangements to have the murder weapon brought to court.
