Maisha Health, CancerServe Trust, celebrate Women’s Month

LEADING medical health insurance firm Maisha Health Fund this month partnered with Cancerserve Trust to celebrate International Women’s Month.

March is celebrated globally as International Women’s Month and to mark this year’s celebrations, Maisha Health Fund supported CancerServe Trust, a charity Trust with a mandate to promote cancer awareness, prevention and treatment in Zimbabwe, by hosting a Zumba fitness session in Harare facilitated by renowned fitness trainer, Zoro.

Over 100 participants took part in the event, where the Maisha Health Fund provided free vitals checks for blood pressure (BP) and Body Mass Index (BMI). Maisha also educated women on the importance of maintaining a healthy living.

Dr Anna Marry Nyakabau, a prominent Oncologist and Founder of Cancerserve Trust, praised Maisha Health Fund for the partnership.

“Our relationship with Maisha has helped us promote cancer education through cancer tips, available on the *147# platform, while also fundraising for cancer treatment.

“In the past we have received donations of cancer medicines from Maisha, through funds generated from the cancer tips platform,” Dr Nyakabau said at the event.

Ms Fidelia Gandiya, Econet Wireless Zimbabwe’s Stakeholder and Community Relations Executive, who also took part in the event, hailed Maisha Health Fund for upholding the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goal (SGD) Number 3, which seeks to promote good health and well-being.

Maisha Health Fund provides tailor-made medical insurance services in Zimbabwe, including medical cover to corporates, colleges, schools and individuals.

Maisha medical cover is widely accepted at private and public health care service providers.
