‘Hello Mwari’ burns 2020
JAH Master’s 2020 hit song Hello Mwari has been singled out among the best productions for the year so far.
The Zimdancehall song became more of a national hymn after its release thanks to the young musician’s creativity; it has generated more than three million hits on Youtube since August.
“In terms of popularity, Hello Mwari is the song of the year,” music promoter director of Jive Benjamin Nyandoro said. Kayse Connect’s Elton Kurima concurred with Nyandoro.
“Hello Mwari is the song of the year in terms of popularity but in terms of quality I go for Safe from Nutty O,” Kurima said. Nash TV founder and music promoter Tinashe Mutarisi said Hello Mwari has no competition in the song of the year popularity contest. “The song of the year is obvious. It is Hello Mwari!” Wilbert Rukato said the year 2020 belongs to Jah Master. “He rocked with his song Hello Mwari.”
Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, the majority of musicians have launched new music this year with the likes of sungura music icon Alick Macheso, Jah Prayzah, Suluman Chimbetu, Allan Chimbetu, Freeman, Janet Manyowa, Mambo Dhuterere, Mathias Mhere, Trymore Bande, Mark Ngwazi and Bethen PasinawakoNgolomi
