Emmaculate Msipa makes CF Joventut debut
MIGHTY Warriors captain Emmaculate Msipa made her debut for Spanish side CF Joventut Almassora over the weekend.
The Zimbabwean international was introduced as a second half substitute as the team went on to lose 1-0 to Alhama in the Segunda Pro division. CF Joventut are currently struggling in the league winning only one game in their last 5 matches and sit on number six on the log standings after 13 matches.
The addition of the talented Zimbabwe midfielder may just bring about the turning point the team desperately needs. “Welcome to the club, a great player who will surely give us many joys. Welcome Msipa,” the club said on their social media platform.
The Mighty Warriors skipper was unveiled by the club on Saturday after completing her medicals on Friday. Msipa signed a one-year deal. Before joining the Spanish side Msipa had a fruitful tenure at the reigning champions Black Rhinos Queens.
She won the Women’s League Golden Boot and the Footballers Union of Zimbabwe Player of the Year in 2019. She was part of the historic 2016 Mighty Warriors Olympic qualifying team that competed in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she scored a crucial goal against Australia.
She becomes the second Mighty Warriors star to join a big European side after teammate Rutendo Makore who was with Spanish topflight side Sporting Club de Huelva during the 2017-2018 season.
