MDC Alliance national executive member Patson Dzamara was yesterday buried in Mutoko.
Dzamara succumbed to colon cancer on Wednesday in Harare.
This comes five years after his brother Itai was abducted by unidentified men in Glen View, Harare, while having a haircut. He has not been seen ever since.
Speaking at the burial, MDC organising secretary Amos Chibaya said Dzamara contributed much to the party and to the nation.
“He was a fearless cadre, he worked very hard in trying to liberate Zimbabwe from Zanu PF misrule. He wanted people to get jobs and to have a good life. He was a good young man who listened to advice. People must remain resolute and fight for your rights, we must finish and fulfil what Dzamara wanted to see happening in our country,” Chibaya said.
Dzamara’s death comes as his friends had started a social media campaign to raise US$27 000 needed for the operation, and they had mobilised US$14 000.
He was arrested on several occasions as he demanded answers on the abduction of his brother and also against the country’s economic crisis.
