DRAMA and film production organisation Geraldine Roche Drama (GRD) has followed many arts organisations and artists that have postponed its competition’s finals due to the spread of the deadly Covid-19.

The much anticipated finals which involved groups from Matabeleland South, North and Bulawayo provinces were set for April 7 at Amphitheatre.

However, GRD, yesterday announced that it had been forced to postpone its finals for the drama competitions for Matabeleland region.

Project coordinator Khaliphile Sibanda confirmed the postponement.

“GRD regrets to notify all stakeholders and clients that due to coronavirus pandemic and the official statement prohibiting gatherings exceeding a hundred people, the finals of the GRD competition and the presentation of phantom has been postponed until further notice,” Sibanda said.

“We would like to assure everyone who bought tickets for the show that they will remain valid until such a time when another date is announced. We would like to urge everyone to stay calm in these trying times and follow the advice of health practitioners on how to best prevent the spread of the coronavirus should it enter Zimbabwe.”
