TELEVISION programming at public broadcaster ZBC will be disrupted for an indefinite period following the shutting of its Pockets Hill headquarters after an employee tested positive to coronavirus (Covid-19).

As a result, ZBC would focus more on contact tracing, massive testing of its employees and disinfection process among others to curb the spread of the deadly pathogen.

“ZBC wishes to advise that a positive Covid-19 case has been confirmed at Pockets Hill. Ministry of Health guidance on contact tracing, disinfection and testing are being implemented. Visitors are not allowed until further notice and normal programming will also be affected,” read a statement from the broadcaster.

ZBC has joined the list of other companies that have been affected by the pandemic and these include retail giants OK and Pick N Pay supermarkets, CBZ Bank, Cimas and Psmas among others.

As at July 28, 2020, Zimbabwe had 2 817 confirmed cases, including 604 recoveries and 40 deaths out of a total of 124,194 tests (68 194 RDT and 56 000 PCR).
