Concession woman scoops $1m grand prize

LEADING edible oils manufacturer, Pure Oil, through their brand ZimGold, recently handed over $1 million to a lucky shopper, Pauline Rusenza, from Concession in Mashonaland Central Province.

The event was the finale of the ZimGold Millionaire Promotion which ran from the beginning of October to November. More than 300 shoppers walked away with various cash prizes. At the handover ceremony, University of Zimbabwe graduate Christabel Madzinga and Chinhoyi University of Technology graduate Tsitsi Zendera were awarded scholarships to pursue Master’s degrees.

Both students will pursue Manufacturing and Materials Engineering at the Institute of Technology Palakkad (IIT) in India, fully funded by Pure Oil Industries.

Pure Oil, which is running a community welfare initiative called ZimGold Givers, donated cooking oil to Jairos Jiri Association and Triple S Trust.

“As Pure Oil, our quest is to also bring cheer and a smile to all the beneficiaries of this year’s Pure Oil CSR interventions. We are aware that the groups we have targeted are experiencing a lot of challenges in the current economic climate which has been further worsened by the Covid-19 pandemic,” said Pure Oil executive chairperson Pradyumn Ganediwal.
