The bitter feud between DANet founder Obadiah Musindo and Wilson Masokowere has escalated after Masokowere filed for rescission of a High Court eviction order.
This follows a February 11 ruling by Justice Jacob Manzunzu, who declared that Masokowere “has ceased being an employee of the organisation” and issued a stern interdict barring him from the premises at Number 29, 5th Avenue, Mutare.
“The respondent is hereby interdicted from entering or approaching the applicants’ Mutare business premises… and shall not be permitted to access any of the applicants’ premises,” Justice Manzunzu ruled.
“The respondent is hereby interdicted and prohibited from interfering, in any manner whatsoever.”
Masokowere is seeking to overturn the ruling, claiming he never received the initial summons. However, DANet alleges he ignored the judgment and staged a brazen sit-in, forcing them to seek enforcement via the Sheriff’s office.
A Messenger of Court was reportedly engaged, but Masokowere allegedly refused to budge and hired bouncers to intimidate staff.
Manicaland provincial police spokesperson Wiseman Chinyoka confirmed the police were involved but noted that eviction powers rest with the High Court’s enforcement arm.
“Following the High Court order this year, Destiny for Afrika Network engaged the Messenger of Court to serve Wilson Masokowere. However, Masokovere did not vacate the premises. The police advised that the Sheriff or Deputy Sheriff should be engaged to enforce the order. We are currently waiting for them to carry out this process,” Chinyoka said.
Addressing reports of intimidation, Chinyoka added: “Regarding the issue of alleged bouncers barricading the premises, when the police visited the site, they were unable to verify that the individuals present were bouncers. They only observed people around the premises, and no case of violence was reported.”
The conflict has simmered for years, with Musindo accusing his former manager of sabotaging audits and acting violently toward investigators. Disciplinary records from November 2025 show Masokowere was suspended for insubordination and gross incompetence.
“He was duly served with the notice of hearing and chose not to attend without offering any explanation,” the disciplinary findings stated. Masokowere was subsequently fired and ordered to “stop reporting for duty and stop representing DANet in any capacity.”
In a dismissal letter, Musindo warned that any further actions by Masokowere in the organisation’s name would be deemed “illegal, null and void,” potentially triggering criminal prosecution.
Accusations against him include swindling housing scheme funds and the improper handling of company shares.
