LEADING independent national broadcaster, 3Ktv, will tomorrow unveil its Season 15, offering viewers a fresh and riveting lineup of top local and international programming.
The station’s head of programming, Lucia Kanyongo, told the Daily News On Sunday yesterday that the new season — themed Binge, Pause, Repeat — would wow viewers.
“3Ktv is continuing to celebrate its third year of delivering nonstop the very best of Zimbabwean TV content. “In this regard, the station will offer locally unmatchable new programming during this 15th Season.
“Among many other new programmes, our viewers will enjoy for the first time Special Class — a hilarious comedy series that follows the lives of eight students, together with their mathematics teacher,” Kanyongo said.
She added that 3ktv would also continue to bring riveting content from beyond our borders. “Our valued relationship with the Republic of Korea is continuing and will see our viewers enjoying more shows ranging from animation to drama series from that country.
“We are also excited to broadcast programmes from Persia in collaboration with the Iranian Embassy. “We are also going to continue with many viewer favourites that encompass drama and current affairs programmes ,” Kanyongo said further.
On his part, Jester Media Services Group managing director for the Broadcasting Division, Zweli Sibanda, said 3Ktv was continuing to exceed all the company’s expectations — including with regards to its viewership figures and advertising revenue.
“Since the launch of 3Ktv, we have progressed exceedingly well, to the point where 3Ktv has grown to become the most popular local television channel in Zimbabwe. “On that score, we are continuously innovating and improving further our programming to stay ahead of the competition.
“We pledge to our loyal viewers that we will continue to showcase the Best of Zimbabwe as our famous motto goes,” Sibanda added.
“To those people, businesses and organisations that are not yet au fait with 3Ktv, there are many advantages to joining hands with us and exposing your work and brands through the television station.
“3Ktv provides a powerful combination of mass reach, visual storytelling, unparalleled brand building capacity and remarkable affordability — allowing businesses to optimally create lasting impressions, connect emotionally with viewers and to achieve increased brand loyalty and sales.
“The station also gives our business partners and advertisers the ability to target specific audiences and demographics, which means that their messaging can be tailored to reach the audiences that are most interested in the showcased products and services,” Sibanda said further. 3Ktv, which was licensed in November 2020 after coming tops in a competitive and public bidding process, went on air amid palpable excitement nationally on February 28 in 2022 — in the process becoming the first licensed private commercial station to operate in the country since television was first introduced in the then Southern Rhodesia in November 1960.
Apart from the television station, the JMS group also owns some of the country’s biggest and most influential media brands that include the Daily News, the Daily News on Sunday, its printing division Printco, Jester Events, online business newsletter Business Live, and The Financial Gazette — the country’s number one business publication.
