All eyes on prestigious State of Services Economy Survey

ZIMBABWE’S first-ever State of Services Economy Survey (SOSES) will be launched in Harare tomorrow at a ceremony to be attended by the country’s leading corporates and business people.

The survey seeks to position Zimbabwe as a leading service economy with statistics showing that the potential of the services sector to induce growth in developing countries is great.

Hosted by ZB Financial Holdings (ZB), in partnership with Topline Research Solutions, Tatu Advertising, and The Financial Gazette, the survey is running under the theme “Service. Impact. Prosperity” as it aligns Zimbabwe with global trends where the share of total output—world gross domestic product (GDP) —accounted for by services is experiencing sharp increases in almost all countries.

“Together with our partners, we have done everything possible to ensure that tomorrow’s ceremony will be yet another unforgettable event. This opportunity to position Zimbabwe as a leading service economy in the world inspired the partnership to invest in introducing the State of Services Economy Survey 2023.

“At the same time, it also provides a key platform for networking among the country’s corporate leaders and policymakers,” said SOSES organising committee chairperson Martin Matamisa.

He further said they were excited to be a part of the history makers on this ground-breaking national State of the Services Economy Survey.
“Service is fast becoming a major differentiator in the global economy, contributing significantly towards the Global GDP. I believe Zimbabwe has the upper hand as we are culturally service-oriented. Let’s dig deep to rekindle that space so we climb straight to the top of the global services economy rankings.”

Celebrated afro-fusion group Mokoomba would provide the entertainment at the survey unveiling ceremony as the country’s iconic brands, renowned experts, businesses and policymakers come together to commission ground-breaking research that will enrich the nation for shared prosperity.
