TANGLED, a soap aired by independent commercial television station, 3Ktv, has risen to be the most watched Zimbabwean Telenovela on DStv.
The soap, now in its fourth season, was created and produced by award-winning film producer Shem Zemura. Speaking to the Daily News yesterday, Zemura said Tangled is set in modern day Zimbabwe and it dramatises social issues that are tackled by ordinary Zimbabweans daily.
He said the new season of Tangled, which started on Monday, is bigger and better, with mind blowing twists and turns.
“This fourth season is improved in every area, the story is gripping. Margaret is pushed between a rock and hard place, forcing her to make the most brutal decisions. “Murder is an everyday thing this season. It is all about the survival of the fittest between the Murimis and Gundamwendas,” he said.
The fourth season of Tangled will see Margaret and Peter Murimi taking desperate measures to recover what they lost to the Shonhiwa family, especially given that Francis Shonhiwa is determined to expose that Margaret tried to kill her daughter-in-law Linda.
In the midst of the war for power, Shonhiwa is also desperately working to fix his relationship with his son, Simon Junior before he dies of cancer. As if that is not drama enough in the scenic town of Mutare, Learnmore and Zviko’s sextape is leaked.
Zemura went on to praise his team, the Tangled actors, for making it all the way to the fourth season with the number of viewers increasing. “The story and its characters spoke for themselves; they chose who to bring them to life. I was just an enabler.
Everyone who is part of Tangled is super talented and very professional,” he said. “They are also dedicated to their craft, especially Tangled. I can never ask for a better team. More than half of the lead cast are award-winning actors with vast experience and enjoy portraying their characters and a little Murewa fresh air every month.”
The cast includes; Charlene Mangweni Furusa as Margaret, Natasha Dhlamini as Ayisha, Gamuchirai Mukwakwami as Linda, Lorraine Mushati as Chipo, Charmaine Mudau as Zviko among others. Tangled airs on Monday and Tuesday at 1900 hours on 3Ktv on DStv Channel 293.
