VAPOSTORI for Economic Development (Vapostori4ED) and Zion for Economic Development (Zion4ED) won the Most Outstanding Organisation at the Zanu PF mobilisation awards at the Legacy Empowerment Awards held in Harare.
Under the visionary leadership of Madzibaba Moses Gwasira, Mapostori for ED has developed structures and programmes that have been instrumental for progress in all sectors of the economy.
Driven by a deep-seated love for their country and an unwavering commitment to President Mnangagwa’s vision, this dedicated group of Zimbabweans has been quietly yet powerfully contributing to the nation’s development in several key areas.
The award was in recognition of the organisation’s role in uniting and mobilising support for the President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Zanu PF during the past elections.
Speaking after the award, Vapostori4ED national spokesperson and strategist Madzibaba Obey Mapuranga said: “God has blessed us through Legacy TV which has recognised us fully acknowledging our role in uniting and mobilising support for President Mnangagwa and Zanu PF during the past elections.”
“Vapostori and Zanu PF we are one. We are indigenous church which will continue to work in unity with the ruling party,” he said.
The award comes after Madzibaba Mapuranga’s successful prediction that “what happened in Zambia is not going to happen in Zimbabwe”.
He also made political declarations in defending Zanu PF President Mnangagwa, transforming Vapostori shrines into Zanu PF fishing grounds and commissariat conduits.
Legacy TV executive director and chief editor, Pardon Mangwende said: “The Legacy Empowerment Awards is a brain child of the … who formed Legacy TV in order to safeguard the legacy of the liberation struggle.”
“Without the liberation struggle there would be no independence in Zimbabwe so we are trying to motivate and encourage people to keep on safeguarding what our liberators fought for.
“That is why we came up with a concept of rewarding those who have excelled in various categories where they safeguard and protect the legacy of the liberation struggle.
“We have those who excelled in the party structures in trying to mobilise and educate people to honour or help Zimbabwe to achieve vision 2030 that was set by the President of Zimbabwe.”
Zanu PF Mashonaland West provincial chairman Mary Mliswa-Chikoka said: “As we are going towards 2030 we will achieve it and have to come and work together.”
Young Women In Business representative Apphia Nyasha Musavengana, which won the most outstanding empowerment organization award, said: “We want to thank our ruling party Zanu PF and President Mnangagwa for remembering young women availing them business opportunities.
“We managed to empower over 200 000 women,” she said.
